Junior Groom - The Equestrian Centre at Lucknam Park

The Equestrian Centre at Lucknam Park is looking for a Junior Groom to complete their team. You must have stable management experience and be competent when dealing with horses.

As a member of our Equestrian team you will be responsible for delivering a consistently high standard of service to our guests and liveries ensuring needs and requests are met in a professional and timely manner.   

Experience and skills required for the role of Junior Groom/Instructor:

  • B.H.S qualifications or similar experience
  • Knowledge of basic first aid.
  • A knowledge and ability to teach the classical riding position and basic teaching techniques to PC `C+` test level
  • A thorough, practical knowledge of stable management and horsemanship
  • A knowledge of safety and accident procedures within the horse industry
  • A sound, practical knowledge of Equine ailments and first aid
  • To be competent in all procedures and service skills as described in the main duties
  • To be physically fit
  • The ability to communicate clearly in fluent English, both written and verbal
  • A caring and patient manner

Junior Groom is a full time position working 40 hours over 5 days.  Shifts will be allocated on a weekly basis according to business needs and could include early mornings, evenings, weekends and Public/Bank Holidays.

Due to the beautiful location of the property it can be difficult to reach by public transport, please ensure you are able to travel to the property on a daily basis and fulfil the required shifts prior to applying.
