Position Purpose

The role of the Physiotherapist is to deliver a high quality physiotherapy service through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment within scope of practice to our patients. This will primarily be a ward-based inpatient rehab role.

Within our hospital, your role will be to work as part of an expert multidisciplinary team delivering high quality evidence-based post-surgical care to our patients within the ward setting in particular orthopaedics. As part of your role there will be an expectation on developing and maintaining relationships with our consultants and providing high quality, evidence-based post-surgical rehabilitation to our patients.

The role would suit individuals starting their physiotherapy career who would like to advance their musculoskeletal skills developing strong relationships with some the West of Scotland's leading orthopaedic surgeons. You will be supported by a dynamic team of senior musculoskeletal physiotherapists and wider multidisciplinary team, playing an active role in services such as Recovery Plus and our Pre-Op Information Class.

Key Requirements

* BSc Physiotherapy (or equivalent).
* Post-graduate experience preferred, ideally in a ward setting encompassing orthopaedics, gynaecological and general surgery.
* Registered with the UK Health Professionals Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
* Confident communicator with a high level of interpersonal skills and personal drive.
* Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
* Competent and confident IT user - intermediate/advanced skills in Word and Excel.
* Highly organised with an ability to prioritise and deal with varied workload autonomously in an effective and timely manner.
* Ability to demonstrate an active continuing professional development portfolio which reflects a desire to develop as a practitioner.
* Commitment towards the use of evidence-based practice and be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills in chosen field.
* Fit with the company's values and behaviours of being collaborative, focussed, energised and caring.


Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical

* Deliver high quality, effective clinical care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment.
* Be actively involved in the ongoing development of our patient Pre-operative Information Class and Recovery Plus service.
* Maintaining a small post-surgical outpatient caseload.
* Ensure ongoing monitoring of the standard of treatment provided.
* Ensure compliance with all professional, clinical and integrated governance standards and participate in clinical audit and other quality assurance processes.
* Cover sickness and annual leave during normal working hours.
* Participate in the on call rota as required.


Non Clinical

* Ensure effective communication with other clinical staff and stakeholders and actively promote the services provided.
* Ensure that all clinical records are accurately maintained and conform to all legal requirements.
* Ensure that the IT system is used to fulfil both clinical and financial targets.
* Maintain relevant clinical skills and provide ongoing evidence of personal CPD and professional registration requirements.
* Ensure professional and effective communication with all patients, visitors and other clinical staff.


General Information
