The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne, is situated on the unspoiled elegant Victorian seafront facing the English Channel and is within easy walking distance of the town centre. The hotel has 152 bedrooms and suites, swimming pool and Health Club, and two restaurants - The Garden, which exudes period elegance yet maintains an intimate atmosphere and offers a menu of British fare, and the two rosette-awarded Mirabelle, recognised for high-quality fine dining.

The key responsibilities for the Reservationist role:

Our Reservationist will take all room sales enquiries via telephone or via email. They will ensure that all guest room bookings and dinner reservations are dealt with in a flawless and professional manner. They will have the ability to upsell and maximise sales as part of their day to day role and be aware of our competitor's facilities, prices and special promotions. Our Reservationist will be familiar with all hotel facilities and be confident in promoting and recommending these to the guests. They will provide the highest quality of service to the guests with the aim of exceeding expectations at all times.

This is a full time role working 40 hours per week over five days, which will include weekends. The office is covered from 8am to 9pm so shifts will be varying around these hours and therefore flexibility is required.

Please note this is a maternity cover role ideally starting at the end of February for up to one year. There may be scope to move to a permanent contract at the end of the maternity cover.

Our Reservationist will:

  • Have a confident and resilient telephone manner. Be computer literate. Be an outgoing team player. Be well spoken with clear and articulate communication skills. Have previous customer service experience, previous experience as a Receptionist or hotel Reservationist is preffered but not essential as we are looking for the right person with the right attitude. Be able to hit the ground running with a smile on their face.
