The Bloomsbury Hotel now has an exciting opportunity for a Public Area Cleaner to join our team.

Purpose:

To ensure the public areas, corridors and heart of house areas, staff facilities and basement areas are well maintained and kept clean and tidy. These areas must be hazard free and comply with health & safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To take the responsibility that all guest public areas are kept clean and free of dirt. To dust, vacuum, wash and buff the floor and polish on a daily basis.
  • To maintain the presentation of all public areas to the highest standards
  • To clean any Back of House/staff areas as required including white doors and skirting boards
  • To ensure all housekeeping cupboards are secure and kept clean and tidy.
  • Keeping wastage of guest supplies and cleaning materials to a minimum.
  • Ensure any lost property is handed into the housekeeping supervisor/manager.
  • To practice all health and safety procedures in the hotel, reporting any discrepancies to the housekeeping supervisor/manager
  • To clean and service the hotel public areas
  • To work and lead through the Company's Proud Values:

  • To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all standards of performance and delivery within the accommodation department
  • To develop a strong working relationship with colleagues in your department and related departments

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Must be flexible, enjoy a challenge, and is able to work outside the comfort zone while maintaining the ability to be objective and positive
  • Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi task
  • Must be standards driven and detail orientated, with the desire to progress within the luxury market
  • Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a 4/5 star hotel would be advantageous
