Assistant Manager - The Royal Oak - Prestbury, Cheltenham

In 1978 we shut out the world and made beer. At that time, no one was risking it all starting a traditional brewery, making simple, premium, easy-drinking ale. To do so was an act of defiance. Fast forward to today and we’re holding fast to our values and heading off on another exciting journey.  This time we’re defying convention by significantly expanding and investing in our diverse and distinctive collection of pubs and inns, with everything from bustling high-street pubs, cosy country inns and beautiful boutique hotels across the south and west of England.

The Royal Oak is a 16th Century pub in the village of Prestbury, just outside Cheltenham. Featured in The Daily Telegraph’s ‘Top 70 inns in Britain’, it’s the closest pub to Cheltenham racecourse, featuring log fires, a snug bar and a dining room serving quality, fresh and honest pub food. As well as looking after loyal regulars in this historic and warm pub, utilising a comprehensive functions facility the Royal Oak has a successful functions business ranging from buffets to sit down events and outside catering.

As a Butcombe Assistant Manager, you’ll be an integral part of your business. You will be working very closely with your General Manager evolving and delivering one of the best offers around. When it comes down to it, you will be helping to lead a team that are all about making memories by delivering great food, fantastic drinks and an unrivalled guest experience.

You will:

  • Deliver some of the best food and drink in the industry
  • Innovate, create and develop your pub with your General manager.
  • Recruit & develop a fantastic team whilst continually developing yourself.
  • Have a keen eye for business performance and sound business skills ready to be further developed.
  • Be hungry for the knowledge that will turn you from a great operator into a superb future General Manager.

 

 

You will also be great with people and looking for every opportunity to create unforgettable memories for your guests. A great team motivator with strong leadership abilities. Ideally you’ll have managed house pub experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor but this is not essential, we’re much more interested in you than what it says on your CV. You love your job and take great pride in your successes.
