The role
As a Market Insights Analyst/ Manager, you will be the market and competitor expert at Carnival UK. You'll be our eyes and ears in a growing part of the travel market, spotting relevant opportunities and highlighting future risks. You will be responsible for all our competitor intelligence, understanding the implications of economic and consumer trends and helping the business support our travel agent partners.
You'll be working in an extremely varied role, working on fast-turnaround tactical requests regarding changes in competitors' strategy and wider views of the holiday market and its future for the executive board. You will be leading the understanding of what is happening now in our marketplace and being able to interpret what trends are taking place. You will then be able to bring all of your findings together to create a coherent story that shows how the business needs to adapt its strategy to grow.
You'll work with a wide variety of information including economic, demographic and consumer trends, competitor ship launches, promotions and marketing, sales and share numbers, primary research of consumers and travel agents.
You'll work in the growing Insight team, providing independent market, guest and holiday insight across the whole business. You'll working with dedicated insight professionals like yourself, sharing ideas, insights and enthusiasm to deliver best-in-class, integrated insight to all levels of stakeholders.
About you
Naturally, you are curious and adaptive, with the ability to generate concise, relevant insights and stories from a wide variety of information and data sources, from economic trends to competitor moves. You are equally at home being in the detail of government data and tactical competitor promotions to creating strategic overviews of the future cruise market. Key to your success is your ability to communicate findings in a compelling and engaging way, and understanding why specific insights are important to the wider business.
We are willing to consider a wide range of candidates for this role. You could be an experienced market insight manager in another sector, or an economics graduate with a few years relevant working experience and a natural ability to see the wider business view.
If you have a curious, adaptive mindset, the ability to bring multiple information sources together into one coherent story and the strategic foresight to see the implications of holiday market changes to our business, we want to hear from you.
