Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Manager to join the Enfield Logistics team.  Reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager (South), the primary focus of the role is to manage the logistics process, involving stores, despatch, transport and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading a cross-functional team and liaising with both the production and retail management teams to establish procedures and measures to achieve continuous improvement
  • Managing an operating budget of around £12m, our Enfield DC services in excess of 400 shops on a daily basis, with 220+ staff split between day / night shifts, and a fleet of 50 - 18t trucks. Key areas will include goods-in, warehouse, despatch, transport operations and fleet management
  • Ensuring customer service is at the heart of the logistics operation with regular reviews and recommendations for action to improve customer satisfaction
  • Create a culture where safety, quality and compliance are embedded in daily life
  • Achieving budget within the function and ensuring key cost control areas are kept in line
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures
  • Carrying out PDR’s with direct reports, agreeing targets and objectives, conducting monthly 1 to 1’s and agreeing individual development plans
  • Leading a team in line with the values, with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility.

Skills

  • Professionally qualified, you will have operational management experience gained within a time-sensitive, ideally temperature controlled and customer focussed distribution operation
  • National Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Logistics qualification at Diploma or Degree level
  • Effective communication, decision-making and influencing skills across all levels
  • Proficient in IT (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook)
  • Strong demonstrable organisational and planning skills
  • Proven self-motivation and experience of leadership
  • Ability to demonstrate success in achieving business objectives through people
  • Experience of SAP / MRP in a warehouse environment would be advantageous but not essential
