A Marine Engineer Officer is responsible for the running and maintenance of the ship's Engine Room and all of its mechanical equipment. This is your chance to kick start your career in the international shipping industry.
Carnival UK are looking for applicants for both Foundation Degree and HND in Marine Engineering

Successful applicants will be contacted in due course to be invited to an assessment centre. This may also include an online test.
The assessment centres may be held in various locations across the UK and Scotland.
Job Description:
As an Engineering cadet on the other hand, you will be working to ensure the successful running and maintenance of the ship's Engine Room and its equipment. A lot of time will be spent on watch in the Engine Room with particularly busy periods when leaving or entering port. There is also scheduled maintenance to perform, tasks to undertake in the workshop areas, and repairs to machinery or dealing with any plant breakdowns.
Job Requirements:
In order to be eligible for sponsorship, applicants must own a British passport or should be EU nationals and a resident in the UK for a minimum of 12 months.
HND: High grade passes at GCSE (grades A*- B) or the equivalent in English, Maths, Physics or Combined Science and at least one other subject.

Plus (Foundation Degree/Scottish Diploma Entry Route)
A Level or Level 3 equivalent with a minimum of 120 UCAS points or 48 UCAS Tariff points (including a numerate based subject in either Math or Science).
Scottish Diploma- Higher Maths (A-C) or Higher Physical Science (Physics/Chemistry/Technological studies etc.) (A-C) and National 5 English (A-C)
alternatively:

A Level Maths (A-D) or A Level Physical Science (A-D) and GCSE English (A-C)

To increase your opportunity of a career with Carnival UK, you would have completed a Level 3 course such as;
Pre- Cadetship or an equivalent level of qualification in Electrical or Engineering (e.g. BTEC National Diploma or GNVQ Advanced)

Also you will be required to demonstrate a good knowledge of engineering including practical skills associated with this role.
