Financial Accountant - Britannia Head Office, Altrincham
Reporting to: Financial Director
Role Objective
Due to continued expansion the largest independent chain of hotels in the UK are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their busy and dynamic Head Office accounts department in Hale, Cheshire.
The suitable candidate must have a sound accounting knowledge and be able to confidently supervise, review and manage the work of other members of the team.
Main Responsibilities
- Examples of your day to day responsibilities would include but are not restricted to:
- Responsible for overseeing the monthly accounting records, controls and management information. You will have a critical role in the day to day management of the team
- Identifying areas for improvement, efficiency and overall quality and accuracy of the working papers and accounting processes.
- Excellent communication, prioritisation and spreadsheet skills are essential together with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment
Person Specification
The candidate must:
- Must have experience of supervising and managing other staff
- Must be able to confidently review the work of others
- Be able to recognise and address accounting issues and identify areas for improvement
- Be familiar with period reporting with knowledge of month, quarter and year end procedures
- Have an exceptional eye for detail
- Possess strong analytical skills
- Be able to absorb new information quickly, be adaptable and work to deadlines
- Be confidents and approachable, with good communication skills and a ‘can do attitude’
This would be an ideal role for a first time mover out of practice wishing to step into industry or someone with experience working within an accounts department looking for an opportunity to progress their career.
