Reporting to the Head of Group Purchasing

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is one of the leading Visitor Attractions in the UK. Founded in 1896 the company continues to develop some of the world’s most exciting rides. The Company is currently going through a period of major investment and growth.

The Group Purchasing Department are looking to recruit an experienced buyer who as part of a team will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services across multiple divisions including but not limited to engineering, retail, catering, utilities, stationary and estate.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies

Source and develop supply chains. Strong background in building relationships with suppliers and adding value.

Ability to gather and analyse data, track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

Continue to build on and improve current working relationships with internal departments making sure performance and customer service are a key consideration

Responsible for continually evolving and shaping the value proposition across their category.

Developing and implementing tender documentation.

Variety of knowledge of logistics: forecasting, category management, lead times, importing, stock control in order to optimise product quantity and timing of deliveries to minimise unnecessary stockholding.

The team requires a self-motivated energetic individual with solid judgement along with decision making skills and a solid background in procurement. Studying towards or qualified MCIPS.

Ability to adapt to changing needs of the business and work with in other categories such as Food, Print, Utilities. This would suit a buyer with the drive to expand their category experience.
