The Centre Manager is key to achieving the business’s ambitions.

You will combine astute commercial acumen with demonstrable leadership skills, experience of financial and operational management and the ability to work on your own initiative to deliver a highly profitable operation that upholds the Hangar’s standards and values.

While you need not be a world-class climber, you will have an innate understanding of the passion and culture that underpins the climbing community. Supported by a centralised marketing and operations function, you will continuously seek opportunities to open up climbing’s benefits to new audiences whilst growing and retaining a loyal customer base through an effective engagement strategy and exceptional levels of service.

In London, you will be joining a young but established team with great loyalty to the Hangar brand and plenty of motivation to work hard and see it achieve new heights. As Centre Manager your will have the confidence and authority to lead them through a period of transformation, ensuring that they have the skills, support and working practices in place to achieve the Hangar’s objectives and play a crucial role in the development of a nationwide Hangar community.

The successful Centre Manager will be:

• Experienced in the operational management (preferably within the leisure sector) of building, organising and motivating a diverse team of individuals to achieve demanding financial and non-financial performance targets

• Financially competent – we’re not looking for a qualified accountant but you’ll need to be confident analysing financial data to not only assess performance against agreed targets but also to identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement

• Entrepreneurially driven with sound commercial business development and sales skills
