At lifeLEISURE we have exciting opportunities (including apprenticeships) within our aquatics and swimming development team so if you answered ‘YES’ to all the above questions, we would love to meet you at one of our recruitment events* where you'll get to informally meet a member of the swimming management team and find out more about the opportunities available.

*Please note you can attend at any time during the event period, you will not be required for the whole advertised time.

Our swimming team is made up of enthusiastic, motivated, responsible and hardworking individuals who help supervise and deliver a wide variety of swimming sessions, providing routes from the beginner to Olympic swimmers. We have a mix of apprentices, lifeguards, part time teachers who teach alongside their studies or as a 2nd job, and those who choose leisure as their full-time career, enjoying a mix of teaching beginners and coaching elite swimmers and athletes, or working in a combination of roles for example Swimming Teacher and Lifeguard or Duty Manager.

At lifeLEISURE we pride ourselves on developing our people so if you are interested in these opportunities but don't have any relevant qualifications don't worry - come along to an event and find out more about gaining a teaching and/or lifeguard qualification through us.

My experience of working as a swimming teacher has been life changing, this career path followed my love for working with children. I feel constantly rewarded by the children I teach on a daily basis and proud of their success. As a member of staff I feel appreciated and as a team we continuously attend training to aid in our development enabling us to become strong and enthusiastic teachers with a passion for the continuous development of swimmers. This has led to me being the best I can following lifeLEISURE's W.A.T.C.H. principles and gaining Sentinel status!”

“The things that I enjoy about working for lifeLEISURE are, being part of an enthusiastic team and I have also been into swimming from a young age so I really enjoy working around this environment.”

“I enjoy working with lifeLEISURE to meet people and help them when needed. For example being a lifeguard or apprentice is a great starting point, you meet a lot of people and support them both in the pool and out. You learn a lot and are given a lot of help.”

“It’s an easy going but a very professional working environment with nice co- workers, and is enjoyable and fun when appropriate.

For lifeguard roles candidates will need to gain the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). We can train you to achieve this qualification so don’t worry if you don't currently have it.
