Bar Lounge and Terrace Supervisor - South Lodge Hotel, Horsham

Primarily to take responsibility for afternoon tea service helping implement training programs to maintain a consistently high standard of service. To have an outstanding knowledge of tea and the art of tea service and to ensure that this knowledge is distributed throughout the team. To come up with creative and innovative ideas for food and drink menus and to implement these successfully with appropriate training and communication. To constantly evaluate and maintain health and safety and food hygiene standards and to highlight any areas of concern to the bar manager at all times.

Role Responsibility

1. To ensure exceptional service of food and beverage in the Bar, Lounge and Terrace
2. To ensure all staff effectively prepare the department for service according to SOP mauals
3. To help to develop a standard sequence of service and ensure all staff adhere at all times
4. To ensure excellent personal knowledge of the food and beverage items available to guests
5. To help train staff in the art of tea service ensuring a consistent level of service at all times
6. To help to develop creative and innovative ideas for new food and drink menu items and implement these effectively within the hotel
7. To take responsibility for ensuring stock orders are made at the correct times and that stock is kept at an appropriate level, approving all orders with your manager first.
8. To work together with other departments in the hotel when needed
9. To support your manager by taking reasonable responsibility when they are not there and consistently maintaining the department standards at all times
10. To always be aware of health and safety and food hygiene issues, to ensure all staff comply with the regulations in place and to raise any concerns to your manager
11. Assist and undertake any reasonable requests

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong food and beverage service background from within hotel or venue sector, minimum 4 star standard. 
• Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
• Commercially astute and financially aware
