Job Title: Receptionist

Working Hours/Days: 30 hrs per week, 5 out of 7 days on rota basis

Salary: £7.82 per hour

Location: Shrewsbury Sports Village, Shropshire, SY1 4RQ  

 

Managed by Serco, Shropshire Community Leisure Limited was formed as a company limited by guarantee and commenced the management of Whitchurch Swimming Centre, Market Drayton Swimming Pool, Oswestry Leisure Centre, Shrewsbury Sports Village and The Quarry Swimming Pools.

Purpose of Job

 

To provide consistently excellent customer service at reception to all customers and prospective customers, both in person and by telephone. Display in-depth knowledge of the company and the purpose of the role. As well as greeting customers with a smile and display of confidence, the role will also involve a high level of personal organisation, ability to work under pressure and the use of computer systems including Microsoft word, excel and email.

 

Principal Duties

  • Welcome and book-in all customers to the site, ensuring that all transactions and bookings are processed on the computerised booking system.
  • Process all cash, cheque and credit card transctions. Peform a full till reconcilation at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure that up to date information on all activties and facilities is avilable to the customer. In addition ensure that you have full product knowledge of the above in order that customer requests can be delat with effectively.
  • Deal with first line customer enquires or complaints in line with company policy.
  • Have the abilty to deal with all customer enquiries effectively, including Health and Fitness memberships, Swimming lessons, Birthday parties, Holiday Playschemes

          (Where applicable).

  • Deal with all telehone and email enquiries effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Process customer bookings both at the centre reception and by telephone.
  • Ensure that all data relating to both existing and propective customers is recorded correctly.
  • Up sell to every casual user of the service and cross sell to customers where applicaable.

     

Experience Level

  • Must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a demanding customer service environment.
  • Must have experience on interfacing with customers face to face and by telephone.
  • Previous experience in a sales environment would be advantageous but ability to learn is essential.

  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Be able to demonstrate a level of maturity, calmness under pressure and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to prioritise work in a busy and changing environment.
  • A good communicator with a positive attitude at all times.
  • The ability to handle cash and maintain records.
  • An excellent telephone manner.
  • Ability to use IT systems
