We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working Cook or Chef to join our Food & Beverage Team.  The position available is for a canteen cook. Candidates should display the necessary skills to enable them to work on an individual basis and must be able to do a variety of menu’s which includes fish, pasta, grills, soups and vegetables. The ideal candidate must also have a valid food hygiene certificate and must be able to work independently as the location of the canteen is separate from the main kitchen. This is a very demanding role and we are looking for someone who has a great eye for detail who takes pride in their work and can deliver complete satisfaction to staff members.

Basic Job Function: - To take full responsibility and accountability for the running of the Canteen kitchen

Role:

  • Cook for the staff canteen during lunch and dinner service
  • Setting up and cleaning down the canteen after lunch and dinner
  • Ensure the canteen is kept clean and hygienic at all times
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations
  • Liaise with Good Received and Procurement Manager regarding food orders
  • Ensure costings and budgets are achieved
  • Assist with producing menus and new dishes
  • Assist with training KP’s.
  • Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
  • Ensure all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.
  • Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
  • Present a friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic image.
  • Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Head Chef.
  • Ensure all staff under your control are treated fairly and with courtesy.
  • Attend training courses as and when required.
  • You will cater for up to 100 staff per day providing lunch and dinner.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working within a friendly team environment and have excellent communication skills. This is a full-time position with shifts from Monday to Friday from 8.30am – 4.30pm (37.5 hours per week April-Nov) and 9am-3pm (30 hours per week December-March).  This position has excellent progression opportunities for those who are looking for an exciting career and job security.

Person:

  • You must have a minimum of 2 years experience at a similar level in a similar role/establishment
  • You will hold a basic, or preferably intermediate, food hygiene certificate
  • You will hold a minimum of an SVQ level 2 in Professional Cooker.
  • You must provide evidence that you are confident and competent in all sections of a professional kitchen
  • Have a passion for cooking
  • Have a friendly outgoing personality along with excellent personal presentation standards as this is a front facing role to staff
  • You must have the means of getting to and from Loch Lomond Golf Club due to our rural location
  • You will demonstrate a willingness to continue to learning yourself
  • Be positive, proactive, reliable and have a flexible attitude
