Job Details

GLL are looking for a Creche Lead to provide a safe, stimulating, educational and fun environment for children attending Creche Play and Learn at Clissold Leisure Centre in Stoke Newington, North East London. Our Centres provide childcare and welfare for children of up to five years of age as well as providing support to their families, so it's imperative that the facilities and surroundings provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

High quality care, education and a safe, yet enjoyable environment are of the utmost importance in our Children's Centres, so your commitment to plan and deliver all creche and related activities in line with these will be key. Good understanding of the challenges faced when working with children of different ages, abilities and cultures will be needed as you'll prepare activities to meet these needs and requirements. You will ensure all staff are suitably trained with a sound understanding of GLLs Child Protection Policy along with knowledge to ensure all activities are in line with correct qualifications and staff ratios.

You will have childcare experience covering differing age groups in various settings with a minimum NVQ/CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare or Playwork with a Paediatric First Aid qualification. With supervisory experience of a team including recruitment, training, appraisals, conduct, performance and rotas you'll need a flexible, reliable and 'can-do' attitude. You should have excellent communication skills as not only will you be working with our children and your colleagues but you'll also help build relations with external childcare professionals.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

  • Pension schemes
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Ride to work scheme
  • Discounted membership at our leisure centres
  • The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
  • Career pathways
  • Ongoing training and development

If you're passionate and committed about what you do and believe in our social ethos of accessibility and affordability to all, then apply now.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications, age and location.

To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
