The Star is a prominent corner plot pub, located at the beginning of Westgate in the heart of Bradford City centre. The area is popular with shoppers and visitors to Bradford and is located close to Bradford City’s stadium and as such is busy on match days. The successful licensee should exhibit the skills required to run a busy multi-faceted pub. A love of live music and entertainment would be preferred, as well as the skill set to run a high turnover value, drinks led business.

Trading style

The Star should be a busy town centre venue. It needs to cater for people living within close proximity by offering regular entertainment and other community based functions. It should also make more of passing trade with a good range of competitively priced drinks served within a welcoming atmosphere. Trade is currently made up of purely drinks sales but there is scope to increase profits by introducing a simple back bar food offer.

Trade accommodation

The pub is open plan, trading from one main bar servery which is located on the left of the lounge area. Directly opposite the bar is a purpose built stage/DJ area which is ideal for live acts and karaoke. It is well decorated and the F&F is all in reasonable order.
