Trading style
The Lord Nelson trades on very limited hours at present and is very much wet led with the main income driven by live sports, mid-week teams and loyal local custom. Admiral Taverns are looking for applicants who are familiar with the area and will become part of the community. They will need to introduce a bar snack menu with the and enhance the cask ale offer. Experience is desirable however Admiral Taverns have an excellent training programme in place to develop the successful applicants skills.
Trade accomodation
Internally the Lord Nelson compromises of two key trading rooms, a bar which is home to the main servery and consists of plenty of mixed and loose seating, which is all in good order. At the front of the bar is tap room which is mainly used for the pool and darts teams. Behind the bar servery is a small and basic domestic kitchen that will need some additional equipment if food is to be offered. The ladies and gents toilets are located to the rear of the main bar in a lobby that leads to the rear courtyard where there are benches and a purpose built smoking solution. The pubs cellar and storerooms can be located to the rear of the pub, just off the courtyard.
