The Beehive & Cross Keys is located on the edge of Halifax town centre and is surrounded by local housing and businesses. The walk into the town centre is only five minutes and the pub could easily be used as a starting point on heading into town and could be part of a circuit. Adjacent to the pub is the Halifax Play House where there are often plays taking place and the pub does occasionally benefit from these shows. Halifax is a minster town in West Yorkshire and benefits from having a train station which can accommodate direct journeys to London. The population of Halifax is approximately 90,000.

Trading style

The Beehive and Cross Keys is a community local pub that benefits from having its regular customer base and is known as a darts pub. The pub offers a mixed weekly offer from quiz nights on a Tuesday as well as ladies darts and dominoes that compete in local leagues. Wednesday nights have been popular with mixed darts and dominoes team however this is not currently happening and could easily be brought back to the pub. Thursday is pool nights and darts night with a team playing in the Huddersfield darts league. Friday evening is usually poker night and Saturdays is all about entertainment with karaoke and a DJ being popular in the past. Live sport has been shown and this could be a key feature for the avid sports fans. Functions are also popular. There is also a catering kitchen that has not been served for some time and Admiral Taverns would be looking to support the new licensee with menus and banners to help re-launch this. Admiral Taverns are looking for applicants who are familiar with the pub and area and would be looking to continue this jam packed offer and build on the existing trade.

Trade accomodation

On entering the pub through the front door, you enter into the lounge area with seating and a darts board. The pub is L shaped and the bar servery is central to all areas of the pub. There is a raised seating area to the immediate left hand side and a pool table and a darts okke to the rear right hand side. There are also flat screen TVs throughout the pub. The catering kitchen is located behind the bar and is easily accessed from this area. The general condition of the pub is good and it can seat up to 40 covers. To the rear of the pub there is an external smoking area and a small court yard with benches that is popular in the summer months and is a real sun trap. There are two car parking spaces to the rear that are currently used by the licensee. There is also a pay and display car park to the left hand side of the pub.

Private accomodation

The private accommodation is located on the first floor and is accessed through the kitchen. There is also a separate entrance through the rear courtyard. There are two large double bedrooms and two single bedrooms, lounge, private kitchen and bathroom with separate toilet. There are also two additional rooms, one used as storage and the other as a utility room. The condition is good however the new licensee may wish to put their own stamp on it and make them feel a home.
