The Plough is a well-positioned corner site pub in the area of Tredworth, Gloucester. It is a double-fronted site, within the immediate area of Tredworth, Gloucester which is a large residential area on the edge of Gloucester city centre. The Plough needs a new lease of life and Admiral are prepared to invest in the pub to create a pub/bar which fits the gap in the pub sector we have identified. It needs to be a comfortable and inviting for the whole community, attracting men and women alike and in-keeping with the area of Gloucester. With the right operator, investment will be made, including an external decoration with details such as hanging baskets and a signage scheme. This will declare that the pub is "new" and not the old boozer it is currently seen as.

Trading style

The pub is currently wet-led, and we want to develop this with the introduction of a wider range of drinks, including good wines and cask ale, and even a bottled craft ale-range to really stand it apart from the competition. There also needs to be a strong on-line presence with great social media interaction with the immediate area. Although the pub doesn’t currently have a food offer, we strongly believe we can incorporate a catering kitchen into the pub to create catering facilities to enable an operator to provide a good quality food offering to meet the demands of the area.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced operator or whether the Plough would be your first venture into the pub sector, it’s your passion, drive and vision we’re looking for. We want someone who’s done some research into the area and can tell us what they think the area needs by way of a pub offering. Someone who can come to us and say – I know what we should do to the pub and more importantly what you will do by way of being the tenant. We’re really keen to talk to people about their ideas for our pubs rather than us dictating how our pubs should be!

Trade accomodation

The Plough is a two-room operation with the serving bar linking both rooms in what becomes an “open” pub atmosphere. There is seating in total for around 30 people, but with some additional seating this could be increased to 40. The ladies and gents toilets are situated just off the large outside drinking area. This area has an open fire, and a lovely beer garden to the rear of the building.

The pub has three letting rooms which are decorated to high standards and whilst they are not en-suite there are plenty of showers and toilets along the corridor making them ideal for contractors and those not wanting high-end B&B. Being so close to Gloucester Rugby Club, there is plenty of scope to let the rooms for match nights too! There are two shower rooms on the same level as the letting rooms. The first shower room has a single shower, wash band-basin and toilet. The second shower room having two showers in the same area. In addition to this there are two separate toilets. There’s a small “breakfast” area, with room for a fridge, microwave and toaster to enable guests to help themselves to their own breakfast, if you choose not to do a cooked breakfast for guests. This area is great for guests who want to bring their own food and have a take-away in their room as opposed to going out into Gloucester for a meal of an evening.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and use of the shower rooms (also used by guests). Downstairs there is a living room and kitchen.
