UK & International Recruitment Manager

Camp Beaumont, Norwich (relocating the department from London)

Reports to: Operations Director

We are looking for a talented Recruitment Manager to join our team and oversee the hiring process from beginning to end for both Camp Beaumont in the UK and also British Summer Camps in China. You will manage a small team responsible for attracting candidates, evaluating applications, delivering assessment events, conducting interviews and placing successful applicants both domestically and internationally.

As a Recruitment Manager, you should have some knowledge of HR best practices and have innovative ideas. If you have strong communication skills, are confident and a hard working individual who likes to think ‘outside-the-box’ we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and continue to develop the overall recruiting strategy
  • Supervise and direct the Recruitment Coordinator to best support the business
  • Oversee the writing and posting of job descriptions on career websites, social media and universities job boards.
  • Continual evaluation and reporting on success of advertising streams and exploring other options to maximise number and quality of applicants.
  • Organise, plan and attend staff recruitment events and fairs on behalf of Camp Beaumont across the UK
  • Evaluate and screen electronic applications
  • Conduct phone and on occasion Skype interviews putting forward candidates for management and more senior roles.
  • Plan and deliver staff assessment and training events throughout the year
  • Oversee the administration behind the contracting process including reference requests, DBS checks, contracting and all pre-employment paperwork.
  • Manage and oversee the payroll function
  • Available point of contact for casual staff with queries or concerns
  • Coordinate with group HR on new legislation and legalities surrounding the contracting and recruitment of staff.
  • Build the company’s professional network through relationships with HR professionals, colleges and other partners.

Additional Responsibilities  

  • Form part of the decision making process with regard to policy and execution of the recruitment function.
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Time spent travelling to camps and various recruitment events in London and the Home Counties
  • Online content on the Camp Beaumont recruitment website, portals and social media is kept up to date and engaging
  • Conduct site visits to ensure high quality of staffing and offering retraining if required
  • Create and develop a robust training syllabus to implement in FY19 and development of staff induction checklists.

Personal Requirements 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident and presentable with an enthusiastic and infectious personality
  • Passion for the childcare and leisure industries
  • Happy to work some weekends, early mornings and evenings where required (all additional hours above your contract will be returned in lieu)
  • Happy to travel between Norwich and London regularly, spending periods of a few days at a time in London as and when required.
  • Ability to prioritise and complete projects efficiently and within a deadline
  • Familiarity with basic computer programmes such as Word and Excel and with a variety of social media platforms
  • Full Drivers Licence with use of own car
