Financial Controller - York, North Yorkshire

You will be involved in bank reconciliation, balance sheets reconciliation, accruals and prepayments, journals, P&L analysis, variance reporting & payroll.

Working in a small finance team, reporting to the Group Finance Manager, duties will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for both companies, including accruals and prepayments, journals.
  • Monthly analysis of budget to actuals
  • Reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasts
  • Assisting the Group Finance Manager with Monthly P7L department review
  • Management of two members of staff
  • Reviewing the reconciliations of third party revenue streams
  • Regular analysis of the AP to include the review and authorising of payments
  • Recording credit card transactions and reconciliation of monthly statements
  • Preparation of audit files, liaising with auditors
  • Completing statutory returns as and when required.
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes, qualifications and experience:
  • Experience of management accounts preparation
  • A can do attitude, someone with the professionalism and maturity to work under their own steam.
  • Part- qualified CIMA/AAT Level 4 studier(or equivalent)
  • Analytical and customer focussed
  • Good spoken and written communication
  • Hotel or Hospitality background (Not essential)
  • Experience of hotel finance systems and processes(not essential)
  • A good understanding of Excel,Word and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll
