Assistant Financial Accountant - London

We have an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified, part qualified ACCA / CIMA or equivalent candidate to join us as an Assistant Financial Accountant.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the Finance team on a daily basis, you will be responsible for the following:

• Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts including providing calculations for month end reporting.
• Performing profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations to produce quarterly balance sheet files for audit review.
• Assisting with the yearly auditing process and working with the external auditors to produce the year end accounts.
• Overseeing the sales and purchase ledger finance assistants and carrying out reconciliations of their work.
• Dealing with queries and managing the finance system
• Reconciling the intercompany accounts on a monthly basis
• You will be expected to have the ability to lead, mentor a small finance team as well as strengthen and improve financial controls and maintain the financial systems.

This role will suit someone who has a solid and proven accounting background, a strong work ethic and who is really looking to develop and grow with the organisation long term.

Ideally AAT qualified, or studying ACCA/CIMA you will have experience of working in an accounting team and will have an understanding of the demands this type of role can bring. With excellent communication skills, you will be confident in presenting yourself to senior managements, and will be able to challenge ideas when needed.
