Section 1: Job Role Content

What will the role involve?

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic candidates to work towards their Leisure Operations NVQ Level 2 and be part of a friendly team to provide a fun, safe and quality experience for all of our customers.

The job will involve:

• Taking responsibility for the Health and Safety of all our customers
• Pro-actively carrying out daily checks such as pool temperature ensuring standards are met
• Take pride in poolside surroundings, by conducting cleaning duties & maintaining hygiene standards
• Provide a professional, friendly and welcoming services to all customers
• Maintain full product knowledge of the services at our centre. Flexibility towards the hours and role are essential as you will be required to work on a shift-rota basis including evenings and weekends.

This is a full-time position and you will be required to work around 30 hours per week on a shift basis at your designated centre. You will receive on-going training and benefit from free use of the gym and swimming pool.

The programme is 12-15 months in duration and you will be employed on a fixed term 12-15 month contract. On successfully completing your Apprenticeship we would expect to be able to offer you continued employment and development opportunities:

• Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Active Leisure, Learning and Wellbeing Operational Services
• Level 2 Certificate in Leisure Operations
• Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning
• Customer service/ Sales/Marketing within the Leisure Environment
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities
• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)*Certificate in Swimming Pool Supervision and Rescue

Section 2: Leisure Centre info

The Princess Royal Sports Arena opened in October 2003, providing premier health spa facilities, extensive sport and recreational facilities for everyone.

Our team of fully qualified fitness and studio instructors will ensure you make the most of your time with us. Everyone has different reasons for using our facilities, but whether you want to improve your fitness, lose weight and tone up, train for an event, or simply relax and unwind, our staff will help you achieve all your goals.
