Overall scope and purpose of job:

  • To support the BOH team to ensure the efficient, cleaning of equipment, food  
  • Preparation areas, maintaining the kitchen to a high cleaning standard, good receiver.
  • Working as part of a team in a busy kitchen assisting in the day to day running of the
  • Catering area. Along with the kitchen management team complying with all hygiene and
  • Health and safety programmes and regulations.
  • To act as an ambassador for Tom’s Kitchen ensuring that a positive brand image is  
  • Strengthened and maintained in all interactions with colleagues, suppliers, customers.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE 

  • A minimum of 2 months experience as KP in a similar fast paced, quality environment
  • Willing to assist others to provide excellent service to all customers
  • Able to work under pressure and multi task particularly during peak hours and extended period increased business
  • Experience in a physically demanding role
  • Understanding how to accept deliveries
  • Can accurately follow instructions
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Meticulous in detail
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy weights
  • Having a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Possessing a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance

  • Experience of operating Commercial Dishwasher
  • To have basic H&S

  • COSHH trained in previous business

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • To be friendly, courteous and professional at all times to colleagues. Works safely and tidily at all times, and ensures the safety of others, adhering to H&S legislation.
  • Understand COSHH
  • To wear correct Personal Protection equipment when required for hazardous jobs
  • To use the correct cleaning materials and chemicals for each job, and use them as per instructions, or as directed.
  • To ensure all kitchen equipment, pots and pans are thoroughly cleaned, as per instructions, and stored correctly after cleaning
  • To ensure a swift turnaround of dirty crockery and cutlery, and working in a way that ensures minimum breakages.  
  • At the end of the shift that the pot wash area is fully washed down, tidy, dishwasher drained and out on to cleaning cycle, plugs cleared of debris, bins emptied, floor scrubbed and all equipment emptied and correctly stored.
  • Keep bin room tidy, any food or waste debris is removed from the floor, Following rubbish collection, bin room floors and on-street areas, have any greasy residue removed and floor areas are scrubbed and cleaned down, and left clean.
  • To ensure opening and closing procedures are carried out to company standards
  • Wears the appropriate, clean and well maintained clothing and footwear for each shift, which matches the dress code for the role, in line with company policy.
  • To maintain all working equipment within a good level Consistently arrives in a timely manner for the start of each shift.
  • Attend all training as requested, whether in-house or with an external provider
  • Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by Management
  • Able to accept delivery according to standard
  • Run the washing up section to the required standards set by management.
  • Loading and unloading dishwasher Washing up Taking out bins to the waste disposal point Rotation of stock FIFO (first in first out) in the walk in fridge and freezer.
  • Working as part of a busy kitchen team plus other duties required by the head chef Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the designated section
  • Maintain a positive and pro-active attitude at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Comply at all times with the restaurant rules
  • Comply with the provisions of your contract and any of our Company Policies and set an example for more junior members of staff.
  • Seek to ensure at all times that all visitors or guests on our sites have the best experience possible.
