Set on a 1400 acre Estate in beautiful countryside The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa is currently in an exciting period of growth. Owned by the Bannister family whose vision is to be a landmark destination hotel, we opened our state-of-the-art Spa in November 2015. In addition we offer our guests a 4 x 4 off-road experience and a CPSA Premier Plus Shooting Ground, which was voted Best Shooting Ground in the UK last year. Archery, Falconry Centre and Fly-Fishing on the 24 acre lake or River Aire are just some of the many activities on the estate.

Concierge – The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa

We are looking to employ a full time Concierge at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa. You would serve as a key contact for Guests throughout their stay at the hotel, providing information about the hotel and the local vicinity. A Concierge is responsible for managing the first impressions of our Guests and therefore must perform the following tasks to the highest standards

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The meeting and greeting of all Guests to the hotel in a warm and friendly manner, answering their queries about the hotel and surrounding area, and making recommendations to enhance their stay at the hotel
  • Assisting Guests with their luggage at arrival / when guests are leaving the hotel, including dealing with the management of luggage for large group arrivals
  • Serve as a key point of contact for Guests and efficiently respond to Guest enquiries
  • Stay current with all hotel services as well as daily VIP requests and special events
  • Ensure orderliness and safety guidelines around the reception/lobby and front door areas,
  • Project a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and Guest service, maintaining and enhancing luxury 4 AA standards at all times
  • Transport Guests within the Estate, to local venues, airports or as required
  • Building strong working relationships with Guests and colleagues
  • Parking Guests cars

Personal Qualities:

This is a very customer focused position and will require you to think on your feet without loss of efficiency or composure

  • Positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service and passionate about exceeding guest expectations
  • Good written and verbal command in the English Language and have a good knowledge of the Hospitality industry
  • Good standards of computer literacy
  • Excellent grooming standards
  • Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the local area
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Well organised with attention to detail


  • Have proven success in a similar role


40-50 hours per week, shift patterns 7am – 3pm and 3pm -10pm

£18,000 to £20,000

28 days holiday including bank holidays
