Reports to; Management 

The above role is to support the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen and to be responsible for all kitchen activity, including food ordering, production, cleaning, due diligence, stock management, pest control, and profit control in the absence of the head chef 

Duties; 

  • To complete all company training provided  
  • To ensure at all times that all legal requirements are strictly adhered to e.g. Licensing laws, Trade Descriptions Act, Weight & Measures Act, Food Hygiene Regulations, Food Safety Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, C.O.S.H.H Regulations, Fire Regulations, Gaming Acts and any other licensable acts within the business/that may affect the business  
  • to be aware of the location of both first aid and fire fighting equipment  
  • to attend all meetings and briefings when required  
  • to ensure all necessary preparation for the forthcoming service in accordance with the anticipated trade levels  
  • to ensure all menu items are prepared, cooked and presented to the highest possible standard  
  • ensure portion control is maintained and wastage is kept to a minimum  
  • ensure all wastage and stock losses are reported to management  
  • ensure food orders are placed and in line with current trading requirements  
  • ensure all food deliveries are put away and correctly stored  
  • ensure the safety, security, storage, rotation, labelling and dating of all food stock  
  • to complete all company kitchen paperwork as necessary  
  • ensure the kitchen is kept in a high standard of cleanliness  
  • be vigilant and report any potential pest issues  
  • ensure oil and waste management is in place and adhered to  
  • to assist in the training and development of kitchen team members  
  • to work within all company rules and standards as well as the Health, Safety & Food Hygiene acts  
  • to carry out any other reasonable request made by management
