Area Controller - South of England

Role Objective

  • Managing the Hotel Controllers within your defined Area in the South of England.
  • Critically assess all procedures and practises on a constant basis
  • Ensure all new company procedures and instructions are implemented
  • The financial interests of the company are protected at all times
  • Draw attention to areas of weakness/concern, ensuring corrective action is taken
  • NB. A full UK driving licence is essential (as job is based on the road)

Main Responsibilities

  • Recruitment, Training, Development & Guidance of Hotel Controllers within your area
  • Have regular contact with Hotel Controllers in your area by either meetings or site visits
  • Be the first port of call for all issues raised by Hotel Controllers within your area
  • Hotel Control Function: Revenue & Lost Income Auditing/Cash & Credit Card Reconciliation/Purchase Ledger/Sales Ledger/Food & Liquor Stocktaking/Wage Processing

Person Specification

  • The candidate must be:
  • Experienced in managing a large team and/or experience of managing a multi-site set-up
  • Experienced in financial auditing and/or accounts background desirable
  • Ideally from a Hotel/Audit/Finance Background; Candidates from a Hotel Front Office background would be considered
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Prior knowledge of Front Office systems operating systems & Epos desirable
  • Problem solving, critical analysis, logical, independent and balanced common-sense approach, are all important characteristics
  • Full training given, attitude of candidate is key
