Marketing Manager - Maternity cover (9 months – 1 year) - The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa, Skipton

Role overview:

As Marketing Manager you will be responsible for the day to day execution and implementation of the hotel and estate sales and marketing plan to help build brand awareness, drive sales activity, whilst identifying new opportunities. You will be self-motivated, driven and highly proactive. A passion for the product is vital and the right candidate will be confident, target driven, out-going and a team player.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop the hotel and estate sales and marketing plan considering the hotel and estate budget and key availability
  • Identify key markets for leisure, spa, wedding, corporate driving sales for all facets of the business: short/spa breaks, additional accommodation (The Thack), 3 key dining outlets, weddings, corporate, day spa, spa membership, Coniston 4x4, Falconry Centre, Clay Pigeon Shooting Ground and any additional initiatives
  • Review target markets to consistently build customer profiles for each key market
  • Drive strategy and execute any new initiatives
  • Manage annual marketing budget for the hotel and estate
  • Plan, manage and implement all hotel and estate packages/rates
  • Plan, manage and implement monthly promotions to drive sales
  • Manage and implement print and promotional activity
  • Plan and implement any inhouse marketing initiatives
  • Manage and implement all advertising platforms – local, regional, magazine, trade, online and evaluate return
  • Manage media and public relations plan and identify opportunities working alongside agency
  • Host press and media contacts through familiarization trips
  • Manage the annual awards schedule and submit entries as and when required
  • Manage social media plan and identify opportunities working alongside agency
  • Identify and develop key initiative and partnerships with the community and local events
  • Develop and drive gift voucher promotion sales
  • Manage, Maintain and develop website content and activity
  • Review SEO, ad word activity and implement change to drive traffic to the website
  • Manage monthly e newsletter schedule and implement along with other areas of the business
  • Review manage and segment hotel and estate customer database
  • Plan, manage and implement annual events and exhibitions and evaluate return
  • Ensure effective communication/consultation with all relevant stake holders: senior management, sales teams for each area
  • Manage marketing elements of weekly sales report and monthly board report to present

Required competencies:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a marketing and hospitality role
  • Marketing degree or Chartered Institute of Marketing equivalent
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Extremely detailed orientated whilst juggling multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Able to prioritize, work under pressure and in a fast-moving environment
  • Confidence, determination, professionalism and a welcoming personality
