Reward and Benefits
GLL is a charitable social enterprise and employs over 4,000 staff in a variety of leisure jobs.  As an employee-owned organisation, all permanent staff are invited to take up society membership which enables them to become active in the management of the company.

GLL actively encourages progression from within and offers all employees the opportunity to train and develop their skills.

Our policy is to pay our staff well for the jobs that they do and to incentivise good performance.  Our rates of pay are some of the highest within our sector of the leisure industry.

Through regular reviews all GLL employees are made aware of what is required to improve their individual performance and, therefore their pay.  Remuneration rates are assessed regularly, in order to ensure that they are consistent with the market and accurately reflect the contribution of individual staff members.

Attendance related bonus
All permanent GLL employees can qualify for an attendance related bonus.  This rewards employees for consistent attendance at work.  The bonus equates to an additional 8% on top of an individual’s basic salary.

Ownership and Empowerment
GLL is guided by a board of trustees, which is appointed on an annual basis at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).  The board has representation from a number of stakeholder groups including staff, customers and local authority partners.

Staff Membership Discount
All GLL employees are entitled to a reduced membership rate at all GLL-managed leisure facilities.

Paid Holiday
Paid holiday for a full year is 31 days - including public and bank holidays.  For those with five years service or more this increases to 36 days.

Career Development
GLL is accredited by Investors In People (IIP) and all staff undergo continuous professional development through a range of learning resources.

All new staff are offered a corporate induction.  A personal development plan is then drawn up, in order to identify development objectives and how they can be achieved.

GLL has received many awards in recognition of the training and development opportunities it offers its staff.  These include the London Regional Training Award, The Edge Award and the Enterprising Solutions Award.
