Administration jobs within the leisure industry are more widely available than thought. Jobs can be found both full and part time and with the advent of the Internet there are even jobs where you can work from home although these are few and far between. A couple of examples of jobs available are.
Membership Administrator job
Membership Administrators are responsible for ensuring all the membership of a centre is administrated and accounted for. You will be responsible for liasing with members regarding direct debits, renewals of membership and administer the club rules on a number of issues such as suspension due to ill health and cancellation of subscription.
Governing Body Administrator
This would be a very broad role; you would be responsible for a range of issues from memberships to events organisation. These roles are less frequent than membership administration roles and give a wide range of experiences.
You will need to be sure for administration jobs that you can demonstrate organistation skills, pc literacy/ it skills. This type of role may not be ideal for people who see their main skills as people skills unless you are looking for administration management jobs. As an administrator you can expect to earn between £12,000 per year and at the very top end in leisure £20,000 although this can be exceeded in other industries.
