I’m responsible for all activity within the club ensuring that members get everything out of their memberships, that they participate in whatever they want and that they enjoy using the club and get value for money.
I was at Kos on holiday with all of my university friends when I was awaiting to hear about the role and I kept ringing up to check if they’d got back to me and eventually they offered me the job while I was on holiday, I think they just thought “who’s this crazy guy that keeps ringing up for a role?”
I think I had the usual boyhood dream of being a footballer but never quite had the talent unfortunately for that to ever become reality. From school age, I always had a keen interest in sport. I always wanted to be kicking a ball or holding a tennis racket, where that came from I suppose was my family life. My dad was in to sport, it being a massive part of his upbringing.
I’d love to have my own club within David Lloyd. I’d love to be a General Manager, that’s sort of where I want to get to, you know I’d like to think that that’s going to happen sooner rather than later. I’m getting to the stage now where I feel like I could do the role, but that would be a real success story for me if I could get General Manager at my own club.
