Tumble Tots Trainer

Hours: Monday – Friday mornings. Job share is available. In addition you will need to be able to work during school holidays, evenings and weekends.

Salary:

  • £6.56 – under 21
  • £7.59 – 21 to 24
  • £8.07 – 25 yrs+

Wave have taken the opportunity to purchase the franchise license to deliver Tumble Tots sessions in an area spanning Lancing in the west, up to Lewes in the North and to Seaford in the East. Tumble Tots is a structured, active physical play programme for children from 6 months to 7 years. It has been designed to develop children’s motor skills of agility, balance and co-ordination during their formative years. It is often delivered in community sessions such as church halls and aligns with Wave’s strategic vision of delivering health and wellbeing activities in the community.

Purpose of the Post

  1. The Trainers role is to support and assist the Leader during the session and to contribute as a team member.

Summary of Main Duties and Activities

  1. Assisting with the unloading/loading of the equipment from the van
  2. Assisting with the safe setting up of the stations as directed
  3. Ensuring that both children and parents are having fun and participating fully in a safe and challenging environment
  4. Supporting the Leader during circle time by ensuring the music is on cue and stickers, Birthday Cards etc are ready. 5. Joining in the action songs and rhymes
  5. Ensuring that the parents/Tumble Tots working on your station understand what to do on the station and parents understand how best to support and encourage their child
  6. Ensuring that children do not stray onto the equipment between sessions. 8. Any other support duties as requested by the Leader or Supervisor.

Person Specification

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Physically fit

• Enthusiastic and friendly personality

• Strong verbal communication skills

• Prior experience of working with children either in a teaching or coaching setting
