As F&B Supervisor with Virgin Active your challenges will be varied and many. Working closely with the F&B Manager, you’ll see that our lounge runs smoothly delivering an excellent member experience each and every day. Ensuring that all hygiene and health and safety requirements are met. Induction and training of staff, monitoring of stock levels, the promotion of forthcoming events and, of course, preparing and presenting food and drinks – all and more will be part and parcel of this high energy role.

Your job…

  • Being responsible in the F&B Manager’s absence for ensuring an exceptional level of service is presented to members; that our members are given a personable and attentive service throughout their visit.
  • Drive the F&B team to provide the professional preparation and presentation of food & beverage items to the highest company standard, responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient handling of customer orders.
  • Responsible for the supervision and motivation of the F&B Team buy supporting and encouraging development.
  • Ensure a safe environment at all times by making sure Health & Safety, COSHH and department policies are complied with, as well as making sure all facilities and equipment are well maintained and properly stored.
  • Assist the F&B management to meet and exceed set targets and objectives, help achieve commercial success within the department and wider Club team.
  • Working alongside the F&B Manager, committed to the effective supervision of the team at all times, and ensuring that in their absence, the department is successfully run.

  • Previous experience of working in a commercial food and beverage operation; able to remain calm under pressure and work efficiently in all situations, with the ability to coach and motivate others.
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience in a similar environment, able to respond appropriately & professionally to everyone you interact with in all manners.
  • Excellent organisational flair, with a keen eye for detail and strong numeracy & literacy skills.
  • A Level 2 certificate in food & hygiene would be beneficial but not essential as training would be provided.

Your commitment….

This role is full time, working 40 hours per week. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business; specific shift patterns include evenings (3pm-11pm) and weekends (7am-3pm or 12.30-8.30pm).
