Commercial Director

We are THORPE PARK Resort and we are part of the magical Merlin Entertainments!

A fantastic opportunity has a risen to join THORPE PARK Resort. We are looking for a Commercial Director who can achieve Commercial & Hotel budgeted revenue and EBITDA targets across the Resort. Reporting to the Divisional Director on The Island Like No Other, this role is crucial to the success of our business. 

You will focus on the development and delivery of Retail, Food and Beverage, Fastrack & VIP, Photography, Games and Hotel strategies. Creating an effective marketing approach to ensure revenue maximisation and robust cost management systems to convert to EBITDA. You will be responsible for driving a department focus on exceptional guest experience to ensure KPI targets are exceeded, alongside ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including food hygiene and site licensing DPS.

Your role will include leading the Commercial and Hotel development across the Resort, creating compelling business cases and managing delivery of projects to achieve the ROIC as well as meeting key objectives such as the 5 year business plan aiming to accelerate growth and delivering strong leadership to the Commercial and Hotel team and colleagues across the Resort.

To be successful in this role we are looking for the following skills and experience;

  • Educated to Degree level or relevant Senior Management Commercial experience, a degree in Business Management is desirable
  • To have a strong background in Retail and Food & Beverage operations at a Senior or Director level
  • Experience developing and managing capital expenditure projects with associated return on investment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience of full accountability for multiple P&L accounts
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time
  • Experience in retail range planning or buying and Food & Beverage concept development, understanding of Hotel Operations is desirable
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Experience of managing large teams of 350+ employees

This role is Full Time, and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.
