We are offering unique opportunities for a highly motivated and experienced commercial Maintenance Assistant with real enthusiasm and team spirit to join our brilliant Maintenance team. You will already possess general experience working as a Handyperson with maintenance skills including painting and decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry and knowledge of electrics.

Each day will be different and the work will range from quick fix lone-working jobs to longer term projects within a team.

Skills

  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Assistant.
  • Fluent spoken and written English, a second language would be desirable but not essential.
  • Have good organisation and time management skills.
  • Use own initiative.
  • Computer literate, proficient in Office packages.
  • Have a positive, friendly and enthusiastic approach towards guests and colleagues.
  • Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, seals, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Replaces broken windows, floor, repairs doors, door hinges and door locks, installs / repairs window blinds, shutters.
  • Repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security.
  • Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns.
  • Assemble, install and / or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing machinery and equipment.
  • Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work

This is a full time role, with early morning, late evening and weekend shifts.
