Painter/ Decorator - The Ned, New Opening

ROLE BASED: The Ned, Poultry, London

Hotel Overview

Located on Poultry Street, this new hotel is one of the most exciting upcoming openings by Soho House & Co. The new project is a joint venture with Sydell group, a US hotel developer. We’re developing a Grade I listed building in the heart of the City to become a destination hotel with over 250 bedrooms. The hotel will have a gym, Cowshed spa as well as 9 restaurants, bars and extensive event spaces. There will also be member’s facilities, where members can enjoy the rooftop pool or in the member’s club.

The Role

Painting and decorating of all front and back of house areas, internal and external.

What are we looking for

To successfully fulfil this role, you will have painting and decorating experience in a similar environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • To carry out internal and external painting and decorating requirements
  • To carry out plastering to walls to make good ready for decoration.
  • Minor repairs to surfaces and structures prior to decorating/painting.
  • Undertake minor repair works and general maintenance activities.
  • To use all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works. Erecting of access equipment as required, with appropriate training and competency.
  • Erection of all necessary access plant and temporary screening as and when required to protect the environment and people, all in accordance with current Health & Safety guidance.
  • Carry out planned programme of painting and redecoration in accordance within the Hotel work plan.
  • Use all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.
  • Monitor decorating material stock and procure new stock as required.
  • Provide operational support to all Hotel functions in emergency situations.

To undertake work in relation to

  • All types of wall papering
  • Dry lining damaged walls
  • Plasterwork repairs.
  • Replacing damaged floor tiles, silicon, mastic and grouting works
  • Replacing damaged ceiling tiles.
  • Fit new plasterboard and plaster.
  • Paint spraying.
  • To prepare the area ready for decoration including the moving of heavy equipment i.e. fridges, filing cabinets, tables etc.
