Breakfast Chef - Double Tree by Hilton Milton Keynes

Department: Kitchen

Reporting to: Pitchside Head Chef

Contract: Permanent

Hours per week:  40

Job Description

Main Objectives

  • Prepare and cook food for all business areas
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Comply with health and safety legislation
  • Work within Budgeted guidelines including waste management, portion control, updating production sheets

Summary of Duties

  • Prepare food for breakfast, snacks and lunch
  • Cook all breakfast Items, hot, chilled and ambient, for restaurant, day delegate meetings and Arena MK, working to menu specification
  • To ensure that all food is produced and presented to set standards and specification guidelines
  • To ensure all legal legislation requirements, including health and safety, food safety and company policies, are adhered to
  • To ensure kitchens and equipment are cleaned using cleaning schedule and ad-hoc cleaning requirements
  • To ensure that stock management procedures are adhered to including rotation, labelling, order sheets and date checks
  • On a rota basis working on the egg station cooking to guest requirements
  • Any reasonable management request

Person Specification

Essential

  • Have NVQ level 2 in Food and Professional Cooker or equivalent, (Level 3 desirable)
  • Be able to work to strict guidelines, as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of COSHH
  • Possess good customer service skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable around a wide range of working patterns
  • Show a good level of spoken English
  • Possess Level 2 in food safety

Desirable

  • Experience within a busy hotel
  • Level 3 in food safety
