We are currently recruiting for a site Cleaner to work on a permanent basis at Shrewsbury Sports Village. We will require the desired candidate to work 15 hours per week covering shifts Monday- Sunday.




Shrewsbury Sports Village has a range of facilities and offers a variety of activities for all ages. Activities range from Superstars holiday club & junior climbing to fitness training, group exercise & Badminton.




Job Purpose

You will work as part of a team to provide a cleaning service on site. To ensure required standards of quality, hygiene and health and safety are met and maintained.

Main Duties and Responsibilities




- To clean public areas on and around site to the specified standard of cleanliness, safety and hygiene, in line with contractual and legal guidelines
- To be responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene in the establishment which will involve all floor cleaning and polishing, all bathrooms, WC`s and washbasins, all internal windows, washing of walls as required, cleaning of upholstery as required, shampooing of carpets as required
- To follow safe practices, specifically with regard to COSHH, PPE and Manual Handling
- To safely and effectively take delivery of and store cleaning chemicals and materials
- To service all areas at appropriate times, minimising disruption to users of the centre
- To assist cleaning team members from other areas, as appropriate
- To maintain facilities and equipment in a safe and working order, liaising with site maintenance contractors as appropriate
- To adhere to routine cleaning, periodic cleaning and deep cleaning programmes and to maintain documentation of tasks completed
- To work with due regard for his/her personal safety and that of others in the centre
- To ensure the cleanliness of areas allocated to the post holder
- To assist in cleaning across the whole site



 



Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience




- Previous knowledge of cleaning materials, their use and storage
- Experience of working in a similar role on a large site
- Previous experience of working with members of the public
- Basic literacy and numeracy
- Personal skills and general competencies
- Works efficiently and effectively and actively looks for ways of improving services and outcomes for customers
- Works well with colleagues but also able to work on their own initiative
- An awareness of health and safety issues
- A strong team player
