Bisham Abbey is one of Sport England`s National Sports Centres and is home to a number of National Governing Bodies of Sport. Bisham Abbey provides excellent facilities to Britain`s leading sports men and women, and aims to provide a world class experience where everything we do ensures that our customers are valued and their satisfaction and recommendation to others is paramount.

Bisham Abbey is also a Conferencing and Event Centre, boasting a large number of recently refurbished rooms and outdoor spaces for weddings, corporate events and team-building days. It is located close to London and major transport links, and sits on the borders of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire in stunning grounds on the banks of the River Thames.

We are currently recruiting full-time Kitchen Porters at Bisham Abbey. The roles are 39 hrs per week, Monday-Sunday working 5 days out of 7 days on a rota basis during the centre opening times. Candidate should be flexible to cover a range of shifts.

Due to the location and working hours of Bisham Abbey it would be beneficial if you hold a Driving Licence/own a car.

Job Purpose
The role of the Kitchen Porter is to work as part of a team to achieve the highest standards of customer service within the centre`s food and beverage areas.
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities;
* Ensure thorough cleaning of the kitchen, including walls, floors, doors and passages.
* Ensure thorough cleaning of fixed equipment, including cold room, cupboards, shelving, sinks, drawers, work surfaces, fryers, air filters and all ovens.
* To ensure thorough cleaning of movable equipment, including fridges, freezers, meat slicer, food preparation units, cooking utensils, microwaves etc.
* Keep a record of all cleaning on the appropriate documentation.
* Carry out simple food preparation as directed by the Executive Chef.
* Ensure the safe use of equipment within the kitchen, ensuring all machinery and equipment is clean, secure and switched off after use.
* Put food deliveries away into appropriate storage areas, rotating stock as directed by the Chefs.
* Collect and wash up pots and pans.
* Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery.
* Keep the storeroom organised.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* No formal qualifications required however, previous experience of working in a similar role is desirable.
* Have a strong work ethic and a commitment to customer service.
* Be an excellent team player.
* Have good awareness of health & safety.
