Cleaner (Full Time) - Maidstone Leisure Centre

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maidstone Leisure Centre is a sports and fitness centre with 5 swimming pools, a state of the art fitness centre, sports hall and children`s soft play area and family changing rooms. The centre offers a wide range of leisure activities for the whole family to enjoy.

We are currently recruiting a full time (40 hours per week) Cleaner to join our friendly team at Maidstone Leisure Centre. You will work as part of a team to provide a cleaning service on site to ensure required standards of quality, hygiene and health and safety are met and maintained.

Working Hours:
Shifts will vary between 6:00am - 23:30pm on weekdays and 6:30am - 22:30pm on weekends.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To clean public areas on and around site to the specified standard of cleanliness, safety and hygiene
- To be responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene in the establishment which will involve all floor cleaning and polishing, all bathrooms, WC`s and washbasins, all internal windows, washing of walls as required, cleaning of upholstery as required.
- To follow safe practices, specifically with regard to COSHH, PPE and Manual Handling
- To safely and effectively take delivery of and store cleaning chemicals and materials
- To service all areas at appropriate times, minimizing disruption to users of the centre
- To assist cleaning team members from other areas, as appropriate
- To maintain facilities and equipment in a safe and working order, liaising with site maintenance contractors as appropriate
- To adhere to routine cleaning, periodic cleaning and deep cleaning programs and to maintain documentation of tasks completed
- To work with due regard for personal safety and the general public
- To assist in cleaning across the whole site

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous knowledge of cleaning materials, their use and storage
- Experience of working in a similar role on a large site desirable
- Basic literacy and numeracy
- Works efficiently and effectively and actively looks for ways of improving services and outcomes for customers
- Ability to work as part of a team on your own initiative
- An awareness of health and safety issues
- A strong team player
