Assistant Manager - The Bar & Grill Entertainment Venue

The Bar and Grill  is a firm favourite with our Holiday Guests and Holiday Home owners alike, with a variety of offerings for everyone from a bar and restaurant, to family and seasonal entertainment with day time activities and night time entertainment. It offers seasonal events such as the Halloween Spooktacular, Christmas Winter Wonderland and Easter Egg Hunts to name but a few. From dressing up to taking part in some fun filled events, the Bar and Grill is a dynamic department filled with fun and laughter; whilst remaining highly professional and passionate about its fantastic customer service.

During 2016, we were excited to open an Activity Hub within the Bar & Grill Entertainment Venue which allowed the team to expand upon the fun-filled daytime activity sessions already offered to our young holiday guests.

The Activity Hub now offers entertainment to suit all ages, from babies to teens, with young holiday guests welcomed into a wonderful world of interactive screens, sensory play, circus themed fun, arts & craft activities and even a Frozen themed workshop. The Activity Hub is home to a fun tower that has bespoke areas for our little visitors to explore…there is so much fun to be had in the Bar & Grill!

An energetic and approachable Assistant Manager keen to train and motivate a developing team to maintain the highest quality service for our customers. Candidates should be able to demonstrate supervisory or management expertise; a knowledge which is likely to have been acquired within a similar position in the leisure or hospitality Industry.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Take responsibility for the day to day operation of the Bar & Grill Entertainment Venue and Activity Hub in the absence of the Bar & Grill Manager.
  • Assist the Bar & Grill Manager with the operational objectives of the business and ensure tight control on costs is achieved in line with the P & L.
  • Plan & Analyse sales strategy with the Bar & Grill Manager, co-ordinating promotional activity & discount schemes.
  • Recruit team members in conjunction with HR to ensure that the training and development of the team and the department objectives are met.
  • Ensure all company H & S and Food Safety objectives and standards are achieved and that any faults are raised directly with the Bar & Grill Manager or the H & S advisor.
  • Focus on “service” standards in the business and, in conjunction with the Training Manager, continue to improve the overall professional standards.
  • Communicate effectively with all areas of the overall business in order to facilitate high standards across Ribby Hall Village.
  • Ensure The Bar & Grill Entertainment Venue operates to its maximum potential.

Our Perfect match will possess the following essential attributes:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Supervisory or Management role within the Leisure industry.
  • Enthusiastic with a pro-active attitude and driven to succeed.
  • The ability to manage, motivate and inspire a team to ensure the smooth running of The Bar & Grill Entertainment Venue and Activity Hub.
  • An exceptional level of front of house service.
  • Evidence of previous responsibility for Health and Safety Compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding customer service.
  • Resilience and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Excellent personal presentation.

Due to licensing laws applicants must be 18 years of age or above.

Availability:

The position is full time; the normal hours of work are 45 per week. Full flexibility to work weekends and evenings is essential to meet the commercial needs of the business
