With 22 conference rooms, we are a natural choice for a residential conference to spend a few days away from the office but equally a true relaxing haven for our leisure guests to take advantage of our 27 hole golf course, tennis courts, fishing lakes, leisure facilities and a 4 lane bowling alley.  What’s more, as a member of our team, you get to use these facilities – all for free!

It doesn’t stop with the views from our hotel location, our staff accommodation is a converted barn of self contained flats, all within half a mile walking distance of the hotel.  Looking to venture out during days off?  Well our staff minibus is available for lifts into Daventry town centre, where there are great access routes to all local major towns and cities.

It’s not all about play though – we may not be the shinest Q but we make up for it with our ability to really go the extra mile for our customers and create a one-off experience at every opportunity.  Our business mix makes for a diverse customer base and our team quickly develop the people skills to be able to deal with people from different walks of life.  Being a resort, you can expect us to be at our busiest during the spring/summer months, when we are wall to wall with golfers, spa guests and conferences, but with the opportunity to spend your days off on the golf course, whose complaining….

Once you’re here, that diverse mix is a definite fast track to be able to deal with anything and we see ourselves as a great training ground, before you move on to bigger things.

  What you'll be doing

We have golf courses at a number of our hotels, offering customers 108 opportunities for a hole in one!  And from the tee off to sinking the ball into the 18th, it’s our Golf and Green keeping team who ensure that playing a round with us is more than just a bit of a competitive thing - it’s a real pleasure.

As Assistant Head Green keeper, you’ll support your manager to make sure that the course is in tip top condition and great to play every time.  With the support of the green keeping team you’ll make sure that the course is continually maintained to ensure maximum playing time as well as develop the course towards becoming increasingly  more environmentally sustainable.  

As Assistant Head Green keeper you will also support your Manager with the development and coaching of the green keeping team, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

What you'll need

• To be passionate about delivering the very best playing  experience for your hotel customers, corporategolf days  and members
• Previous experience in a similar position
• NVQ2/3sports turf, chainsaw, PA1, PA6, PA2A spraying certificates all preferred
• Excellent level of spoken and written English
• o be able to recognize and develop future stars
• To be able to work seasonal shifts as required, which will include weekends and bank holidays

Salary 

£20,400 per annum
