Old English Inns have over 100 unique pubs and pub / hotels, set in rural locations and steeped in charm and character. With informal table service and beautiful settings, this is perfect for a manager who has come from a branded food operation background with a similar style food service.
The Business
Average weekly turnover: £28,000 - £35,000
Split Wet/Food: 30/55
Accommodation: 15
Located on the banks of the River Thames about 20 minutes drive from Oxford this is one of our busiest seasonal sites with 7 brand new bedrooms and very large gardens and moorings its picture perfect. Refurbished 10 months ago, it benefits from sunshine and heavy tourist trade as well as a great place for regulars to eat and then walk the Thames tow path. A successful Assistant Manager in this site will easily be on the fast track to becoming a General Manager in our businesses elsewhere in the UK.

What we are looking for
As an Assistant Manager you will support the General Manager with all aspects of the successful management of the business. With fantastic people and social skills, you will be able to build friendly, efficient and effective relationships with your customers and staff. With previous supervision or team-leader experience, you will be committed to motivating and developing a fantastic team. You will have a real enthusiasm for hospitality and will be customer-focused and passionate about delivering excellent service. With the ability to follow and maintain procedures you will be driven to ensure strong standards across the business. Ideally, you will also have an awareness of P&L and will be able to work to achieve budgets and targets. With a proactive and positive attitude, you will be excited about career progression and will be constantly looking for ways to develop both yourself and the business.
