Salary: £14,976 plus benefits

Job Type: Permanent, full time (40 hours per week, including evening and weekend shifts)

Condition: Subject to satisfactory DBS clearance.

We are currently recruiting for Recreational Assistants to join our award winning leisure trust. If you are already a lifeguard or looking to start a career in leisure we have a number of permanent and casual opportunities available throughout our leisure centres in and around the Bromley area.

In this role you will work within one of our leisure sites, ensuring the safety of all pool users and maintaining excellent standards of customer service and presentation. Our recreational assistants have responsibility for supervising swimmers in the water, spotting hazards and taking action to prevent accidents. In event of emergencies recreational assistants will perform rescues and deliver first aid to customers. Other duties include cleaning, setting up and taking down and general maintenance of equipment. In all cases recreation assistants are the first point of contact with customers and will need strong communication and social skills.

What skills we are looking for

• Confident swimmer (training will be provided however you will need to pass a swim test);
• Professional attitude and desire to deliver excellent customer service;
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to appropriately correct behaviour of pool users where necessary;
• Energetic and enthusiastic with a good standard of physical fitness;
• A can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service;
• Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the business, you will be required to work early, evening and weekend shifts;
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification will be ideal. But this is not essential as training is given as long as you are a competent swimmer
