Health Team Nutritionist – London

Position: Nutritionist x3

Reports to: Healthy Schools Programme Manager

Location: Victoria Charity Centre, London  

Salary: £20,000.00 - £24,000.00

Job Type: Full time, Fixed-term until 31 July 2018

Start date Immediate

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a passion for promoting healthier lifestyles to children and their families. The post holder will deliver healthy lifestyle programmes in schools and with community groups. They will work closely with the Healthy Schools Partnership for Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea to support schools in reaching their bronze, silver and gold Healthy Schools awards. The post holder will lead training sessions in nutrition modules to professionals. They will also be required to perform other duties as requested by the Three Borough Nutrition team at Mytime Active. 

Responsibilities

  • Support schools to take a whole school approach to healthy eating and lifestyle to achieve Healthy Schools Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards
  • Deliver Mytime Active Healthy Lifestyle Programmes (MEND) in Primary Schools and in the community to groups of parents/carers and children
  • Deliver Workforce training modules to professionals working with children and young people

Skills

  • A professional qualification in Nutrition or Dietetics and educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Associate or fully Registered Nutritionist with the Association of Nutrition or registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council. 
  • Excellent IT skills and adept at using Microsoft Office programmes

Experience  

  • At least 1 year’s experience of delivering nutritional messages in the community, health improvement or child obesity interventions.
  • Experience of engaging and influencing a range of individuals such as parents, carers, school staff and young people.
  • Knowledge of whole school food policy.
  • Experience of delivering training to professionals.
