General Manager – Oxford – Up to £36k

 

The role
As the General Manager you play a pivotal role and will be accountable for the successful management of your club, your teams’ development and achieving financial and business compliance targets. To be successful in this role you will have exceptional leadership and mentoring qualities coupled with strong Sales and Operational skills. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships with self-employed fitness professionals, Regional Management and Support Office functions to enable you to work closely with them to ensure you and your team operates within a well maintained, safe, friendly, successful and progressive environment that strives to support our members to achieve their goals.

1.       To take overall accountability for the club financial and business compliance targets.
2.       To achieve all People, Service, Legal and Commercial objectives with guidance from your Regional Director.
3.       To proactively manage your teams’ succession, development and recruitment to ensure the club is fully staffed, engaged and focused at all times.
4.       To regularly train your team in one to one or group sessions, showing them a high performance culture by excelling yourself in all areas of the club. 
5.       To take responsibility of the research, planning and delivery of lead generation initiatives that drives the achievement of new member targets.
6.       To be the Duty Manager on average 1shift per week and lead the way with what good looks like ensuring you are visible and active at peak times and network with as many members and instructors as possible.
7.       To continually improve knowledge by keeping up to date with industry trends & seek further training and guidance from Regional Director, Regional Sales Manager & National Support Departments.
8.       To be a brand ambassador that uses the facilities and develops product knowledge to be able to answer member queries where possible.
9.       To work as part of the team to ensure all areas are routinely kept, clean, tidy, well maintained and company Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times.

 


How am I measured?

 

  •  Overall club commerciality - Net Member Movement and Direct debit growth.   Performance of club revenue targets – sales and additional spend.  Achievement of payroll and operating budgets.  Club audit score – Legal, Service & Commercial alongside overall club compliance.  Team engagement survey results and team member turnover statistics.  Performance against personal monthly objectives & personal sales contribution.  Personal behaviour and actions matches the spark values.


What do I need?

 

  •  A vibrant personality with a drive for fitness and sales.  Qualified in EFA, Defib, ER & Pool Ops or willing/able to become qualified within 3 months.  Experience in the industry or transferable skills and strong track record in supporting a commercially driven successful team.  The ability to build relationships with business partners & demonstrate good people skills.  Passion for brand standards, service and cleanliness.  Be willing and able to attend all company training as required.
