Sous Chef - Hixter Bankside, London

HIX Restaurants are looking for bright and ambitious individuals to work in a fast paced, exciting and dynamic environment. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior chef de partie with a passion for British food to work at Mark Hix’s restaurant Hixter in Bankside.

Mark Hix serves the best British seasonal produce available with regularly changing menus and this is a great opportunity to work with one of Britain's leading chefs and restaurateurs. Mark has four other London restaurants, in Mayfair, Soho, Shoreditch and Farringdon and one near his home town in Lyme Regis.

Set behind the Tate Modern, and just minutes away from Borough Market, Hixter Bankside follows the success of Tramshed - awarded Time Out's Best Meat Restaurant just months after opening. Set in what used to be an old metal box factory, the building is full of fascinating artwork from leading British artists and the menu delivers chicken and steak in sizes designed to share.

Downstairs is the latest outpost of Mark's award-winning cocktail bar Mark’s Bar which gives a nod to the building’s past as a metal box factory. The right chef de partie will be a team player with energy, enthusiasm and a passion for cooking.  We try and promote from within and as we have other restaurants in London there is plenty of opportunity for progression if you have the right HIXY attitude! 

The right candidate will be a team player with energy, enthusiasm and a passion for cooking, whilst being able to work under pressure in a busy environment.   You will assist the head chef in the smooth running and management of the kitchen so you must have excellent leadership skills. We try and promote from within and with other restaurants in London there is plenty of opportunity for progression if you have the right HIXY attitude!  

It will be a demanding role in a 100+ cover restaurant so at least two years' experience in a similar role and a good knowledge of British seasonal food is required.
