We are looking for the best Team Leader to make things happen for our customers at Park Road Leisure Centre in Haringey. The role is full time working 40 hours per week, paying £10.00 per hour.

You will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and working with a diverse and dynamic team within a fast paced environment.

The company

We work in collaboration with our partners in your community to provide recreational sport, health and fitness activities. A registered charity, we formed in April 2000 with a handful of facilities in Southwark. Since then we have consistently made a surplus (profit) each year which means we have been able to put that back into improving our facilities. We now have nearly 80 facilities nationwide including swimming pools and health and fitness centres and even an ice rink, an outdoor sports centre and indoor bowls centres.

The role

You will be responsible for:

* providing day to day operational supervision of the centre, under the direction of the senior manager on duty
* assuming responsibility for centre operations on a shift rota basis, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the facility, including key holding, opening and/or closing the centre
* co-ordinating the efficient and effective deployment of the team, to meet the financial and operational demands of the centre.
* undertaking fitness instruction, reception, pool supervision and /or membership sales as required
* undertaking cash reconciliation and banking duties in accordance with financial policy and procedures
* preparing reports on the centre's operations, events and incidents where necessary
* ensuring that the centre is secure and maintained to the required standards of cleanliness and repair
* carrying out team briefings (Huddles), disseminating centre initiatives, procedures and communications
* providing clear leadership with regards to compliance with all health and safety procedures and requirements, fixing or escalating issues as appropriate.

The candidate

The experience and background you will need is:

* Nationally recognized pool lifeguard qualification
* First Aid at Work Qualification
* Pool Plant Operator Qualification
* Supervisory experience in the hospitality or service industries
* Experience of delivering first class customer service in a high-pressurized sales environment
* Understanding of membership management and retention systems
* Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation
* Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade.
* Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
* Good numerical and written skills
