We are looking for the best Qualified Lifeguard (Rec Asst) to make things happen for our customers at Southgate Leisure Centre in Enfield. The role is full time, working 40 hours per week, paying £6.65 per hour.

You will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and working with a diverse and dynamic team within a fast paced environment.

The Company

We work in collaboration with our partners in your community to provide recreational sport, health and fitness activities. A registered charity, we formed in April 2000 with a handful of facilities in Southwark. Since then we have consistently made a surplus (profit) each year which means we have been able to put that back into improving our facilities. We now have nearly 80 facilities nationwide including swimming pools and health and fitness centres and even an ice rink, an outdoor sports centre and indoor bowls centres.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

* supervising the pool in accordance with current standards and site NOP and EAP
* proactively directing pool users' behaviour where necessary
* carrying out minor repairs and remedial work to equipment as and when necessary, undertaking regular inspections and reporting any faults or defects
* undertaking cleaning duties, as appropriate
* carrying out pool testing and other health and safety checks as directed by Centre management, passing results immediately to the appropriate person and escalating potential issues promptly
* assisting with daily operations ensuring effective, accurate and timely set-ups and take-downs and changeovers
* assisting with the preparation of all areas for activities and special events as required.
* assisting the members of the public in their use of the facilities, encouraging maximum usage

The Candidate

The experience and background you will need is:

* Nationally recognised pool lifeguard qualification
* Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to appropriately correct behaviour of pool users where necessary
* Good standard of physical fitness
